In a research study from Tufts University, adults who ate a consistent diet of high calorie junk foods were given healthy food throughout a six month study.  Brain scans were taken at the beginning of the period and at the conclusion of the study. The brain scans showed a response triggered in the brain while eating resulting in craving certain foods.  Research scientists suggested that the brain can be trained to crave certain foods, depending on what we feed our bodies.  In the studies, foods given to participants were high in fiber and low on the glycemic index.   With everyone who participated in the study, the brain scans revealed changes in the areas of the brain reward center associated with learning and addiction.  At the conclusion of the study, the brain area had increased sensitivity to healthy, lower-calorie foods, showing an increased satisfaction and enjoyment of healthy food choices!  Below is a list of foods that, if eaten, will help get you started in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through desiring wholesome food.
